Helping clients grow and heal

Welcome! I'm Lauren, she/her pronouns. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and therapist; I work with folks who are 13 or older in Snohomish County (and throughout Washington state via telehealth). In addition, I offer brief consultation to individuals and groups on a variety of topics related to mental and physical health, and also provide Reiki healing services to clients of all ages. 

Do you ever feel like family, spouse, or others in your life see you as a problem needing to be solved? Do you often feel overwhelmed and don't know how to communicate what you need to others? Maybe you feel ambivalent about life in general, or are navigating chronic illness or difficult dynamics at home. You might have used coping methods like avoidance, disordered eating, self harm, using substances, or lashing out to try and gain a sense of control over certain aspects of your life. You might be wondering if talking to someone outside of your family or friends could help you learn new coping tools, or you just have a desire to be seen and accepted as you are right now.

Sometimes partners, parents, other family members, teachers, coaches, or our doctors suggest mental health counseling when we're struggling. You might feel like opening up about emotions is not comfortable, or you might have even tried counseling in the past and didn't feel supported or seen by the counselor you saw. 

My goal as a therapist is to hold the space for whatever support you need to work towards the goals you have for yourself, not the goals others think you should have. Maybe for you that's learning how to communicate authentically with others, or learning new ways to cope with difficult feelings, or trying to find acceptance with your body, gender, level of ability, and/or emotions right now. I'm here for all of it, and work hard to meet you where you are, not where others think you should be.
